Algebra 2 Quiz Monday, 11/3

We will have a quiz on Monday, 11/3/. It will cover Solving Systems of Equations using the elimination method.

Early School Dismissal Football Friday

School will dismiss next Friday, 11/7/2014 at 1:30 pm so that students can come and support our football team in the playoffs next week. We will be traveling to Bessemer to take on Bessemer Academy. The cost for admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will go on sell tomorrow in the office. Please come and support us!

Geometry Quiz moved to Tuesday 11/4

We will have a geometry quiz next Tuesday, 11/4. It will cover section 4-2, which consists of finding angles in triangles.

Pike Liberal Arts Spirit Day

Pike Liberal Arts will host a Spirit Day on Friday morning, 10/31 at Hardees. PLAS will receive 20% of all pre-tax purchases made at Hardee's between 4am and 11pm! Please help support our school and GO PIKE!

Homecoming Pep Rally

The homecoming pep rally has an admission fee of $1. If a child is under age, he/she will be admitted free of charge. The homecoming theme is Halloween, so some what you see during the performance may be scary looking to some young children, ie spooky music, loud noises, creepy masks. Young children may want to be accompanied by an adult.

Pre-Algebra Quiz tomorrow, 10/23

We will have a quiz tomorrow, Thursday 10/23, on adding and subtracting unlike fractions and mixed numbers.

Geometry Quiz Friday, 10/24

We will have a Geometry quiz this coming Friday, Oct.24, on sections 4-1. It covers labeling  triangles by their sides, by their angles, and also to find sides given Isosceles and Equilateral Triangles.

Algebra 1 Quiz tomorrow, 10/23

We will have a quiz tomorrow, Wednesday 10/23 on graphing linear equations. The students are also to finish any classwork tonight from today that they did not finish in class. They were given ample amount of time and also allowed to work in a group to complete the assignment.

The students have a take-home quiz tonight on graphing linear inequalities.

Homecoming Float

The 8th grade students have decided as a group for a time to work on their float and a homecoming theme. They will meet at 2:00pm on this coming Saturday, October 25, at Kaylee Ferraro's house to decorate their float. They are responsible for all the ideas and materials. Please help them with the labor and in brainstorming for ideas. The class decided on the theme of "Pink Out: Walking Dead." This theme honors breast cancer awareness month and the homecoming theme of "Nightmare on Kervin Drive." Thanks for everything for all do!

8th Grade Homecoming Float

The 8th Grade has collectively decided to design the homecoming float as "Pinked Out Zombies" in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Homeroom representatives are coordinating a time and place to work on and build the float. Parents please let Mrs. Waldrop or myself know if you can help in any way. Homecoming is Friday, October 31st so we need to get working as soon as possible. Brock Davis is going to help us by supplying a trailer for the float and a truck to pull it.

Algebra 1 Quiz RETAKE Tomorrow, 10/3

I am allowing students to retake their quiz from Wednesday, tomorrow morning at 7:30 before school. They will keep the higher of the two grades.
